Is there such thing as a just war?
War is a state of armed conflict between autonomous organizations (such as states and non-state actors) or coalitions of such organizations. It is generally characterized by extreme collective aggression, destruction, and usually high mortality. The set of techniques used by a group to carry out war is known as warfare.
A just war is a war enforcing a good cause that is a final point of which there is no other resolution to solve a problem, for this to happen you would of needed to try all the possible other ways to solve the matter. Also a just war would need to be declared by a lawful group or a group with lawful authority. This is what would make a war morally of theologically justifiable making is a ‘just war’.
In my opinion there is no such thing as a just war. Some wars are made for good causes, that is one thing i agree with, however every war no matter what type it is, is always leaves a path of destruction. This destruction may not be the destruction of architecture, buildings or homes ,it may be destruction of lives this could be death or life threatening injuries which can never be forgiven as a life is something you can not bring back after it is gone. Soldiers fighting in the war not only put their own lives at risk they put the people trying to survive’s lives at risk, this makes a colossal impact on lives because if one person dies then a whole family of fifty or more has to suffer. now imagine the tragedy of WW2, where over sixty million military and civilian casualties died (3% of the 1939 population), multiplied by their families and friends is an uncountable amount of people that suffered during the war.
If the soldiers and the helpers in the war didn’t help Britain win the war then imagine the people that would of suffered now with the Nazi’s invading countries trying to take over the world making sure only perfect German or German look likes would survive, that would be more than half of the world. This means that the 60 million that died for the survival of other races saves many of us including you. there are many memorials thanking ad saluting the people that helped us as a human race and the 60 million that suffered because they eventually saved a potential 5 billion in the world today. Now tell me that the lives put to a cost were not worth it.
When putting a point across, in my opinion there is no reason to cause harm to others. there are many examples of harm to others when a thought is put into action, for example; The charlie Hebdo shootings on January 7th 2015: Even though there was a lot of controversy between what was the cause or reason for the shooting. In my opinion this was started by the news paper letting racial stereotypes into it, however the people reacted violently without attempts to solve the matter calmly this is just one example of harm to others to put a point across. the matter dd not need to lead to death because harm to others can lead to war just like in WW2.
In some ways there is no such a thing as a just war. This s because a war start between two opposing sides whether it is between two different countries in totally different continents or in the same country, however it can not be a war if the other side do not react. to defend yourself you will need to fight if someone is killing you people. Some countries are forced to fight for defense so surely it cannot be their fault? a fight for defense is a fight for justice, a just war is all about justice so isn’t that what it is about. Their is nothing unjust about defending yourself when being attacked because sometimes it is the only way free from slavery or death.
In conclusion, there are many ways that there is such thing as a just war but reality there should t be as much sympathy as there s fr killing someone because taking someone’s life is unforgivable ths is why i believe there s no such thng as a just war.
